The organization, designed to help change the ratio of female demographics across the advertising industry, was founded a decade ago when only 3% of creative directors were women. Like Tinuiti, they believe that it’s critical to change the ratio across color and self-identified genders.
Each year, The 3% Movement hosts their Super Bowl Speak Up, Tweet Up, inviting all binary/non-binary genders from across the industry to live post their reactions to Super Bowl ads using #3PercentSB.  According to the organization’s website, until The 3% Movement came along, only 3% of all U.S. Creative Directors were women. We live in a world where women influence upwards of 80% of consumer spending and 60% of social media sharing. Through a mix of content, community and professional development, the organization helped raise the number of female CDs to 29% while giving agencies a clear road map of ways to champion female creative talent and leadership. The movement includes a 2-day annual fall conference, one-day MiniCons in cities around the world, a Certification Program, agency consulting programs, a vibrant online community, a live Super Bowl Tweetup, a student scholarship fund, a business blog and more.
