To benefit from a 25% faster delivery on SSL pages you need to update the code snippet on your website(s). Your non-SSL pages already benefit from the improved Akamai CDN we ran in parallel since December, but your secure pages and sites will only benefit from the Akamai infrastructure when you update the code.

The old Cloudfront CDN will stay online for 2016 so there is no immediate need to update (client) websites. But it’s recommended to update in 2016 to improve conversion rates on SSL pages since we all know speed improvement are correlated to conversion rate improvements.
